You have installed the Maxilink in your pc successfully, haven't you? Then connect your MS509 to your computer. Pls check the status bar on the top of Maxilink window. Green means MS509 is connected to pc; red means it is not connected... What color is the status bar? -

With the help of some hi resolution pictures I found on the internet ,I discovered that indeed my scanner must be a chinese clone . It is missing the hardware components that control usb communications U16 - FT232BL ; USB to Serial converter, CRY4 Crystal and Capacitors C15 and C16 located on lower left side of circuit board. I think this is a lesson learned, buyer beware of internet sales. -

Oh, sorry to learn this news. We are aware more and more people are being cheated by internet sellers. MS509 has a lot of knockoffs ..Right now we are going to ask those dealers to remove this product from their shops. -

Is the Maxilink installed successfully in your computer? Does your windows recognize the MS509? -

I'm the owner of a MS509 and i have the same problem! When I connect maxiscn MS509 to my PC (windows XP Service pack3), nothng happens! The computer is not able to recognize the MS509! Any MS509 with a serial number of MS505245 is 99% counterfeit. So just contact your seller and ask for a return and refund. -

Well, just bought this brand new in the box on Amazon. It has serial # MS505245 and it will not connect to computer. So I guess it is counterfeit. You would think buying this on Amazon you would get a real one. So I will be returning it and buying another brand.
